Estate-owned, run by John & Lorna Docherty

The Lochmaddy Hotel is owned by North Uist Estate and leased to hoteliers John and Lorna Docherty, who run the hotel and the daily roster for the Estate’s fishing beats; residents there, and at Langass Lodge, receive priority booking and discounted fishing rates. Most shooting parties stay at one of the two: both have drying rooms and gun storage, and guns are kept in the hotel gun cabinet overnight.

Accommodation isn’t included in stalking or wildfowling lets: each party books its own, and we’re happy to suggest other hotels and self-catering on the island. Also planning stalking or wildfowling? See stalking or wildfowling, or see how to get here.
