Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, and how you can control them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

2. How we use cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. It stores, and uses, the following:

  • Your cookie choice – one entry in your browser’s local storage (nue-cookie-consent) records whether you chose “Accept All” or “Reject All”, and when, so we don’t ask on every page. It is strictly necessary. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if the cookies this site uses change.
  • Google Analytics – only if you choose “Accept All”. Google sets _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, which last up to two years, to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Google signals and advertising features are switched off, so this information is not used to target adverts at you.
  • Google Maps – the map on our contact page is provided by Google, which sets its own cookies when the map loads. It only loads by itself if you choose “Accept All”; otherwise it waits until you choose to show it.

Links to other websites, such as our accommodation partners, take you to sites with their own cookie policies.

3. Managing cookies

When you first visit this website, you are asked to choose whether to accept or reject optional cookies, via the banner shown at the bottom of the page. Choosing “Reject All” means we will not set analytics or other non-essential cookies, and the rest of the site works just the same. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie Settings” link at the bottom of every page, which removes the Google Analytics cookies and asks you again.

Most web browsers also allow you to control cookies through their own settings, including blocking or deleting them. Please note that restricting cookies may affect the functionality of this website. You can find out more about managing cookies at aboutcookies.org.

4. More information

For details of how we handle personal information more generally, see our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy, please contact the Estate Office at info@northuistestate.co.uk.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
